BKNY

For our first post, we decided to go for thai food. Thai food has a huge range of flavors and is unique in it's taste and texture. It is great for those who are yearning to try something new and not the typical burger and fries. This restaurant is great for a girls night out, a date,  lunch, dinner.

BKNY is located in Queens, NY. The address is 47-11 Francis Lewis Blvd Bayside, NY 11361. It is open seven days a week. To find out more go on www.bknythai.com

The restaurant is very intimate with dim lighting. There is an open bar and an elegant table setting.

We went for lunch special and the appetizer was a simple salad with a peanut dressing. It tasted fairly well and had a good proportion. What I liked about this place was the selection of sauces they gave us to compliment our meal. There were various types of hot sauces in small jars and they also had pickled sliced peppers which was the best part!

Penang Curry-  I wanted to try something new at a Thai restaurant rather then noodle dishes so I tried this. It has a spicy to mild taste and has a very strong flavor with haricot vert string beans and green bell peppers to add some crunch to it. For protein, chicken was added and everything complimented each other very well. The curry isnt that thick of a curry. It is fairly watery because of the coconut milk. Most of the all curries include coconut milk, so if you're allergic don't get it! If you want to try something new, with a strong distinct flavor I would strongly recommend this dish. -Joanna Han

Pad Thai Chicken- It is so hard to find good noodle dishes especially in a diverse area like New York, but this dish really topped most restaurants. It consists of rice noodles, scallion, and chicken served with beansprouts and a lemon on the plate. It has so many flavors that just explode at once; the sweetness and tangy taste that almost draws you to eat more. The plate itself is very appealing to look at and its nothing heavy so you can definitely eat this and still feel lighter than a feather. I would definitely recommend this dish.

Praram Delights- This dish has a mild flavor and great for guests who love peanuts! It is made with cabbage, zucchini, and broccoli and of course the special house peanut sauce. The sauce doesn't over power the dish, it's the perfect amount to counteract all the other flavors. If you can't handle spicy this is the dish for you:)

Kaeng Kiew Warn (Green Curry)- If your mouth wants something spicy, go for the green curry. It contains kaffir lime leaves, eggplant, fresh basil, and coconut milk. Our friend got the green curry and she ate everything which shows that it was delicious.

All of the meals on the lunch special are $8.00. It is between 12pm-3:30pm and served with rice and choice of chicken, pork, or beef. If you want mixed seafood or fish fillet it is $10. It can be made with vegetables or tofu if you're a vegetarian and will also be $10.

Go try it out! And give us some feedback on how you guys liked it :)
